　　Dong Jun’s portraits resemble holy icons in the Middle Ages-the visual centre coincides with the geometric centre of the painting,thereby causing the subject to appear preserved and without individual characteristics.The “holy light”emits from the foreground rather than the background while the four corners remain covered in shadows,forming a sharp contrast with the center point.His portraits are similar to surrealist oil painting in that the pay large attention to details-to the extent that they remain clear even when enlarged.this series of photos taken with a small aperture and low speed,traces the history of Chinese rituals over a period of more than 2000 years,many of which hold significant characteristics in Chinese culture that are gradually fading away.Dong Jun has lived in an impoverish area of Xi’an city for more than eight years.Through his experience during this time,he gained a deep understanding of the mentality of the impoverish class,which is vividly reflected in his photographic art.

　　Dong Jun " Blind coal store " has photographyed the coal store managed by father and son three people nearby the beautiful courtyard. Because he often helps the school buy the coal, know with them. Around has spent more than one year, completes this short film. Although is short, it extreme calmly transmits the character that kind of life atmosphere through very many details what he photographs actually, and maintained the rhythm feeling which he approaches with them and knows well gradually. He often chats with them, inside the flat and thin piece completely does not have the useful interview actually. It has only presented the moment that he has experienced together with them sometimes, inside contained “live difficult and monotonous, instantaneous move and the joy among them, as well as between the father and son three people spoke with difficulty mood and relations”.

　　He does not want to tell the story, therefore all does not have more further investigated to these; He only observate and the feel, does not disturb them, but let them inside oneself original life voluntarily do its matter. But this is not said that, he never shares their sentiment. His more attentions, are placed the children of the coal store, that two fellow with his same young, the celebrate gently have the girl name in particular. 　　" Blind coal store " is outstanding, also displays in the phantom. Perhaps it has the relations with experience which Dong jun paints pictures in middle school time and study, his composition, his narration, use the movie language, it is not the television. Both most main difference lies in, the movie lens has contained the richer scene dispatch, but the television is frequently that it meets a series of short and the near lens in the same place expression to expresses one's ideas. "Smokeless Food store", except the daily life scene, does not have the accident to occur certainly, it emphasizes is the atmosphere and the condition, speaking of the author, then is one kind which he sees equally dissimilar life with him.

　　The Dong Jun another short film "Model", he has photographyed an old woman, all alone, comes from some other place, has already made more than 40 years model in the beautiful courtyard. With "Smokeless Food store" different is, this short film more becomes with the interview structure, this kind of interview is not the dialogue, but is listening attentively, or is one kind of daily chatting. The old person already over 80 years old, she spoke of the feeling about the model who make, presents young student's view, also talks about the family member, talks about dies, as well as ways of the world and human sentiment…. These conversations, all occur that hut which lives in the old person, the author also lets us see, she, how does live in, how makes a meal food, or tidies up the waste paper carton with some sort。.All these scenes, although is monotonous, actually still some one kind of moving breath, because it contain the warmth which one kind of person and the person exchanges. Especially in the ending paragraph, has celebrated the new year, outside the firecrackers “pipa  pipa” sound is making, old person there appears chillily is clear, she spoke the very many past matter, the author had not spoken, but he obviously was only personal which accompanied her there to pass this period of time. This period of time from the fall to the winter, it was allowed to see the season from the image changing, the author added the captions in front of each paragraph, perhaps including the lunar calendar solar terms, made him have a feeling is, these passed time, what meant for an old person? but that kind of warm feeling, is precisely comes from  to separate between a generation person to two, is away from the time  the dialogue. Its lens mode, also is different with " Smokeless Coal store ".  Author sometimes, pushes the lens very much near, he wants to let us look that face clearly , that old face, but it is beautiful. Dong Jun  said that, in the beautiful courtyard, the model is special community,  but nobody notes them. He uses such lens mode, forces the people to look clearly. He uses the posture which the camera and that kind listens attentively, the preservation or the confirmation, also not merely is a person some daily trivial and ordinary memory.
