2010年3月至5月，泰国曼谷爆发系列抗议示威。红衫军与泰政府经多次谈判未就选举日期达成一致。4月，红衫军占领曼谷最繁华商业区。2010年5月19日，军方介入。红衫军散去时，数千人受伤，80多人死亡。
A prolonged series of political protests occurred in Bangkok, Thailand, from
March to May, 2010. Repeated negotiations between the anti-government ‘Red
Shirt’ protesters and the government failed to set an election date. In April,
the ‘Red Shirts’ seized the most popular shopping district in the capital. On
May 19, 2010, the Army was sent in to clear their encampment. By the time it was
all over, thousands were left injured, over 80 killed and Bangkok was left
burning.
