自2010年10月26日以来多次喷发的印尼默拉皮火山，造成至少350多人死亡，40万名附近居民离家避难。印尼是世界上火山最多的国家，目前仍有129座活火山。海拔2968米的默拉皮火山是该国最活跃的一座活火山。
Mount Merapi, in Central Java, Indonesia, erupted in late October, blasting hot
rocks and volcanic ash a kilometer and a half into the air, in what was said to
be its largest eruption since the 1870s. Merapi is one of the most active of
over 100 volcanoes in the archipelago. Over 350,000 people were evacuated from
the area around Merapi, and 353 people were killed in a spate of volcanic
activity that lasted over a month.
